More Racing Fun with Need for Speed On Sale at Amazon

Steam isn’t the only one selling pieces of the Need for Speed series on the cheap. Amazon has several recent titles in their stable that you can grab for just a few bucks.

While Steam is selling off the older assets, Amazon has some of the newer titles such as The Run, Rivals and Most Wanted. If you’re looking to round out your collection, now is a good time to buy. I picked up The Run and Rivals. I’ve never played The Run, but the gameplay videos on YouTube don’t look too bad. I’ve seen Rivals on the PS4 and while the graphics looked good, it was damn near unplayable with the controller. I hope something was out of adjustment and the game is a lot better than that. The reviews are pretty mixed with a lot of people saying this is a pretty poor port of the game. For the price, I’ll take the gamble and see how it works. If it sucks, you’ll be hearing about it.

I’ve played the Most Wanted remake on the iPad and it’s decent, but I prefer the original. To that end, you can buy either version of Most Wanted or you can spend $3 more and get Underground 1+2 as part of the bundle. I opted for the bundle. I never played Underground so why not go all and get a trio of racing excitement?

Of course all of this is in anticipation of the Need for Speed movie coming out March 14. Supposedly the movie was made without CGI meaning those are real car chases, crashes and races. Some of them were mockups, but they are the real deal. And in case you missed it, Aaron Paul set the fastest lap time on Top Gear. Who knows if the movie will be any good, but I’m willing to give it a shot and any excuse to drive as fast as hell.

Need for Speed Most Wanted – $9.31/$14.00
Need for Speed Rivals – $12.44
Need for Speed The Run – $8.34
Need for Speed Bundle – $14.45
