Zombie Farm now goes on the naughty list
In the beginning, I thought Zombie Farm was amusing as hell. You raise zombies, try to make some mutations, grow some crops, beat the crap out of some naysayers, farm some vegetables, drop in some headstones and make some money. And it was great. But best of all, it was free. At least on the surface.
But then things went wrong and the game wasn’t fun anymore. Instead of just charging a dollar or two for the actual game so you could play it however you liked, the devs decided they needed to gouge people for every cent they could get. They made the game slower so you have to buy brains. They put locks on all sorts of new items so you would have to buy brains. They made the game frustrating and unplayable unless you kept buying brains. Again, no option to just pay up front so you could play.
Well, what used to be a fun game that was worth supporting has now turned into a blatant scam. Being harassed and nickel and dimmed to death just isn’t any fun. It’s a damn shame, since the game was pretty amusing and devs really look like they put a lot of work into it. It has nice graphics and all sorts of amusing bits. But alas, this is the end of the line. Either let me buy the damn game or just make it free. Scam me once, shame on you. Scam me twice and I delete the damn thing.
As such, Zombie Farm now goes into the bit bucket.
This new genre of "Freemium" games is a load of crap. The in-app purchase is proving to be an ugly and abused thing.
